Detective Cassandra Ynclan has been with the Chandler Police Department for
the past 17 years.
She started her career in patrol and worked primarily in the downtown area on graveyards. After several years, she moved to the General Investigations Unit, handling a variety of cases such as assaults, burglaries, and missing persons. The unit morphed into the Family Crimes Unit and Detective Ynclan was responsible for serious physical child abuse cases and domestic violence cases.
After five years, Detective Ynclan moved into the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit and was responsible for narcotics, vice, and organized crime and conspiracy cases. After six years there, Detective Ynclan moved to the Robbery/Homicide Unit where she is currently assigned. Her duties include violent crimes investigations, including homicide, officer involved shootings, and death investigations. Over the last several years, she has incorporated cold case homicide investigations into her workload, as their was no designated detective at her agency.
Detective Ynclan is an instructor for numerous courses, including co-teaching the Officer Involved Shooting class and facilitating training with the AHIA, where she is a board member. One of her proudest professional accomplishments is receiving the Chandler PD Officer of the Year award for her work on a cold case that led to the arrest of two suspects.
